Last week, I showed you how to take your Android music listening experience to the next level. While that list was quite impressive in itself, there’s always new apps that make your experience all the more better. I believe I may have stumbled upon one more such app, the free and elegant musiXmatch lyrics plugin.

Music that you listen to is essentially incomplete if you are unable to sing along with it. Keeping that in mind, the kind developers at musiXmatch have provided us with this free app that aims to improve your music listening experience. The app combines the largest official lyrics database in the world along with some nifty social aspects to give you a fun, pleasing music experience. The end result? You can sing along whenever you want, wherever you want. Without further ado, I present to you, the musiXmatch Android lyrics app.
Find The Lyrics For Your Favorite Songs
The download itself weighs in at a petty 1 MB, making it one of the lighter Android lyrics apps out there. It requires access to your data connection, of course, to find the lyrics.
Upon opening the app, you will find a bare bones screen with four options. One for searching lyrics, one for getting a list of popular tracks, one for checking your favorites and one for settings.

If you want to search manually, just hit the Search tile, enter your search keywords and watch the app work its magic. From the results that appear, click on your desired result to load up the lyrics.

Back on the home screen for the app, you also have the option of clicking on the Trending tile, which will show you the tracks currently being queried by the app’s users around the world. This adds an element of social interactivity to the app, which lets you know what kind of music is popular right now.

The Favorites tile shows you a screen for all the lyrics that you may have “liked” while browsing lyrics, and the Settings tile lets you clear basic app preferences.

The area where this app really shines is its integration with different Android music apps. The official apps page lists a total of close to 20 apps, which are presently supported, which is huge considering most people rarely step beyond the default Android player. When you do start playing music using one of the supported apps, the musiXmatch tries to match the currently playing song with its huge database of lyrics. If it finds a match, it will alert you to it via a quick notification. You can then access the lyrics to your currently playing song from the notification pull-down.

All in all, this Android lyrics app really does a good job of getting you that much more involved in your music. I believe this app should be on any music-lover’s Android. While it might lack advanced features like auto-scroll, it more than makes up for it by providing a huge database of (mostly accurate) lyrics. Let us know how you liked it in the comments.
