I’ll admit that I’m not an expert on slideshows. If I was forced to create a slideshow, I would probably just go with one of these three ways to make slideshows online. Or I’d use iMovie.
However, if you use a Windows PC, you have a couple more options and AquaSoft Slideshow Ultimate is one of them. Created by a German software company, it’s available for $69.99. This week, we’ll be giving away 10 free copies of AquaSoft Slideshow Ultimate, but first, a walkthrough.
Before you can even begin to absorb how useful this software is, download a free demo version. You’ll understand it better once you start using it. Keeping in mind that the software was created by a German company, you’ll have the option to select either English or German at startup. Although I found the English translation to be slightly confusing at times, I have to commend AquaSoft for preparing detailed help files and example slideshows to get the user started.
This is the main user interface. In fact, this is the default user interface — there are three other alternative view options: Storyboard, Imagelist and Toolbox.
On the left, you’ll find the toolbox and this is where you’ll start adding elements to your slideshow. You can add your own images, videos, text; and the software even comes preloaded with several animations, speech bubbles, and effects to spice up your slideshows.
At the bottom, you’ll find the timeline. It consists of the elements which you’ve added into your slideshow, and displays some of the slide’s properties i.e. transition effects, movement paths, etc.
The size of the element previews can also be stretched so that even more information is revealed!
In addition to that, you can dive in to tweak the settings for each slide, fine-tuning the slide’s timing, transition effect, add a caption, movement and even adjust the turn and rotation during its movement path.
If you want to get an overview of your slideshow, switch to the Storyboard view. The larger previews really help.
Finally, when you’re done, AquaSoft Slideshow Ultimate provides several export options:
- Save it as a video
- Save it as a DVD with navigation menus for multiple slideshows
- Save it as a slideshow CD with security option to prevent access to images (requires Slideshow player)
- Save it as a PDF
- Upload directly to YouTube
- Transfer directly to an Apple device
- Save it as a video for playback on digital photo frames
AquaSoft Slideshow Ultimate takes a lot of getting used to an learning in order to make the most out of the software. If you find yourself creating a lot of slideshows and would prefer access to more options, you’ll probably find AquaSoft Slideshow Ultimate worth having. You could even use it as a video editor!

Thank you so much for organizing this Giveaway sir.Please count me in.I have tried so many slideshow builders program ,but Aquasoft slideshow builder is really the best.It has so many features to make your slideshow memorable for ever.The main drawback of some slideshow builder is that they fail to burn the created slideshow into dvd.I have faced that problem so many times.But Aquasoft is the one that really helped me in overcoming that situation.I still say that they should work on minimizing the dvd burning time taken by the soft in burning the slideshow to dvd.I want this product.Please count me in.

Thanks for the sweet review! Yes, I admit – we are a bunch of fanatic German software engineers that is a bit obsessive with product features. If you dig a bit, you may run into a German word or two. I really thought we got them all and flavored them with palatable English equivalents instead, but it’s an ongoing process…
BTW, SlideShow 7 Ultimate is one of a handful of applications that will make you feel good that you are spending your time in front of a ‘real’ PC instead of a tablet or whimsical netbook (you do read that on your PC….right?).
It allows you to add unlimited number of audio, photo and video tracks to your projects, even in HD. The only limitation is your imagination, the speed of your CPU fan and the number of Gigabytes that you managed to slap into your mainboard RAM slots…
