giveawaynew

The Internet and Android worlds are pretty much filled with great apps and fun games. Whether you have free time on your hand, or just want a break from the monotony of daily life, there’s always a simple app to entertain you. Banking on simplicity is one such game for your Android, called Office Rush by XIMAD.

This week, we’re giving away 10 free copies of Office Rush! Read on to find out how much fun Office Rush can be and how to win a free copy for yourself.

Story line

Office Rush has the simplest of story lines, and puts you in control of your character immediately. You are a security guard at a corporate office and need to work your way up the corporate ladder to become CEO. How you transition between job roles is left for you to think up as creatively as you can. In the game however, you need to walk across stages and beat competing guards to make your way to the top of the corporate pyramid. Along your way, you receive various incentives (mostly in the form of money) for completing the journey as quickly as possible.

Graphics

On the visual plane, the game stays away from the extravagance seen in most current titles, and that really works in its favor. However, the game’s graphics definitely feel a lot like the all time Internet favorite Suicide Salaryman, with the major difference being that the character in this game has no intention of committing suicide.

Gameplay

The game has two modes of control and you can switch between them from the home screen. This is good as it doesn’t require you to go digging into setting menus, trying to figure out how you want to enjoy your game. One mode of control is entirely through touch, while the other relies on your Android phone’s accelerometer to work correctly. Tilting your phone left or right makes the character move across the screen.

The game also takes a shot at being a puzzle in the sense that it requires you to zoom out and move tiles around before you are able to continue through a level. This business of moving about of tiles is critical to completing the game and can get a bit frustrating at times. Unfortunately, the game does lag slightly when zooming in and out, and occasionally during the movement of tiles. The controls, on the other hand, work really well — both the touch-based virtual buttons and the accelerometer modes are very easy to control. All in all though, the game is pretty enjoyable.

Soundtrack

The game’s soundtrack leave a lot to be desired. The background music can get on your nerves in the first few minutes of playing and is definitely not desirable. Luckily, the option to turn it off is right there on the home screen, and all it takes is a single tap.

Social

The game integrates the OpenFeint leaderboard system, where registered users can compete against each other to see who gets the highest score. The integration is fairly smooth and doesn’t require you to do much. Do bear in mind that OpenFeint uses network access to get the information it wants so you might end up shelling out data charges.

Verdict

All in all, Office Rush supplies a fairly decent kick when all you want to do is have a few minutes of fun. As you might have guessed, the game isn’t for serious gamers looking for awesome graphics or the most amazing soundtrack. After all, it’s only $0.99.

We’ve got 10 free copies of Office Rush for Android this week!
