Let’s face it, Window’s Disk Management system is pretty archaic. You can’t do much more in Windows 7 than you did with Windows XP — that’s how much of effort Microsoft put into enhancing that functionality. And that’s why you will always need the help of third party applications to manage your partitions; whether it’s just resizing them, copying them, merging several partitions together, and so on.

EaseUS Partitional Master Professional Edition is available from their website for just $19.95. Before we convince you (or rather you convincing yourself) to purchase a copy, let’s see what the software is capable of.

The version we’ll be looking at today is the slightly cheaper one which comes bundled with the option of creating your own Linux bootable disk. It’s just as functional as its WinPE counterpart and many might say that a Linux bootable disk is better. So there you go.

The application’s main interface is pretty straight-forward and clearly displays all of its functions and operations. EaseUS Partition Master Professional Edition sets out to help you manage your existing Windows partitions in a simple to understand manner, according to your needs. So, let’s say for example, you have a hard drive that has just one partition and you would like to add another, all you’ll need to do is resize the existing partition to make way for a new one — you would click on the Resize/Move partition operation in the left sidebar.

The resizing tool is again, very basic and easy to understand. Everything’s graphically inclined to assist you. Have a look at the screenshot below. You would assume that in order to resize that partition, you’ll only need to click and drag the two ends of the bar — and you’d be right! Simply drag either end until you achieve your desired partition size.

Besides that, EaseUS Partition Master Professional Edition comes with several other tools, which we’ll highlight here. The first is a partition copy tool. This tool is extremely useful when you need to create a backup of an existing partition on to another hard drive. You’d probably need something like this when you’re upgrading to a larger hard drive.

Next is the Merge operation. This function is probably most useful when one partition is running low on free disk space and instead of resizing several partitions to make space; all you need to do is merge 2 partitions together to end up with one larger one. The Merge operation is also helpful if you’d like to revert back to a single partition by merging all of the adjacent partitions together.

One of the most interesting features previously mentioned about EaseUs Partition Master Professional Edition is that it comes bundled with the option to create a Linux bootable disk. In fact, you can easily create a bootable USB drive or CD/DVD with this software. You can also create an ISO to burn your own Linux boot disk.
